Curriculum


Essentially the purpose of the comprehensive or polyvalent school is to provide on a single campus for the educational needs of all students in the region.

Tentative course plans for boys include electricity, machine shop, drafting, welding and auto mechanics; For girls: interior decorating, nursing assistants, hairdressing, dressmaking. In addition the commercial department is to be enlarged and improved.

Also in the plans are a geography room, biology and general science laboratories, plus the botany room alread mentioned.

For too long the tendenc has been to equate graduation from high school with university entrance with only a passing nod in the direction of the great majority of student whose ambition is quite different.

By becoming a comprehensive institution Rosemere High School is following today's trend of greater emphasis on the individual.

At the elementary level also change is in the air.
