Rosemere High School in 1967

In 1967 I started teaching at Rosemere High School, then administered by the North Island Regional Board, which included two representatives from the Laurenvale Region in which RHS was situated. Rosemere High School drew most of its 900-plus student body from the graduates of Laurenvale schools. Rod Booth from Burnaby, BC sent me a copy of a Laurenvale School Municipality publication which was a reprint from THE NORTHERN BEACON of January 26 of that year. Among various information about the Laurenvale School Municipality there is also the first floor plan of the addition to the existing Rosemere High School. This was eventually built a few years later. I remember it well as I lived through the hell of noise and smell. I worked at the school till 1972 when I moved as Social Studies Department Head to the new Western Laval High School.

Below you will find the scans of pages 1 and 2. These scans, however, are impossible to read, so if you are interested in a particular article about RHS at the time I was teaching there, just click on it and you will get it in plain text or in an enlarged format. You will find out that, although some things remained the same, there has been considerable change since 1967.
